How it all began

We met in Winter 2021 for our first date: A long food tour around Harvard Square.

We melted the ice with a hot beverage by a conversation about life goals. Our date quickly consumed appetizers, followed by sweets and a warm dinner. We rounded off our night with hot cocoa under a Christmas-lit tree and sealed the deal with a smooch.

And just like that, time resumed, and our food tour had elapsed 6 hours!

I think we were both happy with the idea of speaking our love through food.

Fast forward a whopping week and we were FBO.

It was the height of the pandemic. Partially vaccinated, we decided to (responsibly) burst the isolation bubble for some prime Boston eats and sights.

We quickly discovered what we had in common, from life goals to our love for food and our love for cats. We rallied to beat Shaun’s cat allergy and learned we could tackle obstacles together. Some of our first date eats remain amongst our favorite go-tos.

Fast forward a whopping two months and we booked our first trip to California together.

WHERE IT ALL WENT

One year went by. We traveled to California, Denver, Philadelphia, and continued exploring what Boston had to offer. We celebrated — V finished internship, graduated, and started postdoc, and S kept trucking along and crushing it as an acoustical engineer. We grieved the loss of loved ones, visited the emergency room with cool minds, and learned to take care of each other. We grew in love.

We found our first apartment together. With his newfound allergy immunity, S fully embraced the role of Cat Dad to Edgar and Klaus. V began working as a psychologist. Her hair grew. S added a tattoo. We perfected our tiramisu recipe and welcomed friends and family to our new home.

But most importantly, we had fun doing it.

And just like that, on May 25, 2023, S proposed on Muir Beach after a hike through Muir Woods. She had no idea, but his mom planned the whole thing and we were thrilled to share the moment with S’s brother Gabe and his partner Alexa. We spent the rest of the trip in California on cloud nine sharing the excitement with local friends and family.

Now, we are looking forward to more celebrations, more food, and more growing in love with you all by our side!

And the rest is history
